Privacy policy.

Little Walks is developed by Robert Trahan. This policy covers the iPhone app, its Home Screen widget, and the optional team features.

Your personal walking data

With your permission, Little Walks reads step counts and their dates and times from Apple Health. It uses them on your device to show your local-day goal, hourly progress, pace, history, and streaks. It does not add or change records in Apple Health. Your chosen name, goal time, reminders setting, and the widget’s latest snapshot stay on your device. The app saves daily and hourly history totals on your device with iOS file protection so History can open quickly, then refreshes them from Apple Health. This history cache is excluded from device backups and is never sent to the team service.

When available, your phone's motion tilts the 3D awards. Motion data stays on your device and is not sent to our service. Reduce Motion disables automatic award motion.

Your account and optional sharing

Little Walks requires Sign in with Apple and a username during setup. Apple supplies an account identifier, and our service keeps that identifier and an encrypted Apple sign-in credential to maintain your account. We do not ask Apple for your email address or full name. Step sharing starts off and is optional. With sharing off, your username is reserved for your account but does not appear in rankings, and the app does not upload your step totals. Your private Solo walks, personal goal, hourly history, and longest-streak award use data on your device. Signing in does not turn on sharing or start a subscription. You can turn sharing on later in Teams to enter worldwide Solo rankings and join teams.

For each competition day while you participate, the app sends your cumulative daily step total and its update time to our service hosted on Cloudflare. It may send an updated total as your steps change. The service keeps the latest shared total for each person and day, then uses it for the solo ranking and every team that person belongs to that day. The app does not send individual step samples, hourly history, your personal goal time, or your local History screen. The service also stores your username, team names and memberships, invitations, join requests, and reports or blocks you submit. After you create a profile and agree to share, your username appears in the worldwide solo ranking automatically, including before a step total is available. You can also join one team in each size from two to ten people. Other signed-in Little Walks users can see your username and shared step totals in the solo ranking. People who have joined a team in the same size division can also see team totals and member usernames and totals for that division. A team enters its leaderboard when all its spots are filled. The competition day follows a common worldwide clock, so your personal goal may show a different number near day boundaries because it follows your local day.

Competition totals can arrive late or change when iOS delays Health updates, corrects past data, or your phone is offline. We keep shared daily totals while your account is active and sharing is enabled so the app can show daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and all-time rankings and competition awards. Your all-time Solo score adds the totals shared since you enabled sharing. Earlier private days are not uploaded as shared history. A team’s all-time score includes steps earned by members while they belonged to that team, even if they later leave it. We do not use health data for advertising or tracking. Cloudflare processes the account and competition data for us to operate the service under its data processing and security commitments; the data is not stored in iCloud.

Optional Team Creator subscription

The personal tracker, solo ranking, and joining a team by invitation are free. If you subscribe to Team Creator, Apple handles payment through your Apple Account. The app sends Apple's signed purchase information to our service to verify creator access. Our service stores a purchase account token, a hashed Sign in with Apple identifier, product and transaction identifiers, purchase environment, and purchase, expiration, revocation, and verification dates or status. These records let us provide and restore creator access, respond to renewals or refunds, and prevent another account from claiming the same purchase. Purchase details are not shown to other walkers. We do not receive your card number or Apple Account password, and step data is not sent to Apple as part of a purchase.

After you delete your team account, we retain minimal verified purchase-ownership and refund information to restore purchases when you sign in again with the same Apple account, prevent duplicate claims, and keep old receipts from restoring refunded access. We remove an unused purchase-account record if no purchase has been linked to it. We may still retain transaction-specific refund or reversal records sent by Apple, including a purchase token when Apple supplies one, without retaining your Sign in with Apple identifier or its hash for those records. The retained purchase information does not include your username, team memberships, or shared step totals. Apple separately retains purchase information under its own policies. Manage or cancel through Apple; deleting the app or Little Walks account does not cancel Apple billing.

Reminders

If you enable progress reminders and allow notifications, Little Walks uses the latest recorded steps to show your total, pace, or steps remaining, and celebrates when you reach 10,000 steps. Regular reminders include the reading time. iOS controls when step changes reach the app, so notifications may describe an earlier reading. These details can appear on your Lock Screen according to your iOS notification settings. You can turn reminders off in the app’s Settings or manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

Your choices

You can leave any team or stop sharing in the app. Leaving a team keeps the steps you earned while you belonged to it in that team’s past and all-time scores. Stopping sharing removes your historical shared step totals and their contributions to team scores from the active service and ends all team memberships, including your solo ranking. In Settings, you can sign out or delete your team account; deletion removes its username, memberships, and shared step totals from the active service, ends the app session, and requests revocation of its Sign in with Apple connection. Cloudflare’s database recovery history may retain deleted records for up to seven days on its Free plan or up to 30 days on its Paid plan. Sign-out alone does not delete the account. Deleting the app removes locally saved settings, history totals, and snapshots but does not delete your team account or Apple Health records.

You can change or revoke Little Walks’ access to Steps in Apple Health or iOS Settings. You can turn reminders off in the app or manage notification permission in iOS Settings. The app does not request location and has no ads or third-party analytics.
